My Work
My poetry primarily explores the experience of occupying a body in the world, especially in relation to trauma, disability, and queerness. I am currently working on my first collection of poems, Body Rumors, which confronts a personal history of childhood sexual abuse and examines how violence persists in the nervous system for decades. The collection also discusses my upbringing in the Opus Dei religion, my experiences with chronic pain, and my gender identity journey.
As an undergraduate, my writing instructors included Vievee Francis and Peter Orner. My thesis advisor at UNH is Diannely Antigua. My inspirations include writers such as Jill Bialosky, Adrienne Rich, Akwaeke Emezi, Cate Marvin, Aricka Foreman, Eileen Myles, Hilary Plum, Ellen Bass, and Donika Kelly.
